Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil (Simmondsia chinensis) is obtained from the seeds of the jojoba shrub, however, it is not an actual oil but a “liquid wax”. While all other seed oils also contain glycerin (triglycerides) in their molecule, jojoba oil does not contain glycerin, and its is a linear, unbranched molecule. This may explain why it is easily absorbed by the skin and why it can penetrate through the small pores of the epidermis and the interstitial spaces of the dermis.

Unlike all other vegetable oils, jojoba oil is chemically very similar to human sebum. Consequently, a good part of the oil and its ester, isopropyl and alcoholic derivatives, are used in cosmetics and for personal care products, especially for skin and hair. It also contains tocopherols (powerful natural antioxidants), vitamin F, and minerals.

Jojoba oil, like the entire line of Sapone di un Tempo cosmetic oils, can be mixed with other oils, for a more specific result or for specific problems.

Instructions for use: Instructions for use: Pour a few drops on palm, apply to face, body, hair or nails, and massage gently until absorbed.
