Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is obtained from the fruits of the coconut tree (Cocos nucifera) that is typical of the tropics. The seed of the coconut is removed of its outermost fibrous shell and inner shell, to expose its white delicious flesh. The kernel of the coconut, the copra, is dried and used in preparing the oil (after being pressed and refined), since it contains about 65% fat.

Pure coconut oil is distinguished by the fact that it has the consistency of butter at temperatures below approximately 25°C, above which it softens until it becomes oil. Rich in medium-chain saturated fatty acids, such as caprine, caprylic, capric and lauric, it has a soothing and emollient action and helps make dry skin elastic and firm. It is also moderately antiseptic due to the presence of lauric acid. Coconut oil, like the entire line of Sapone di  un Tempo cosmetic oils, can be mixed with other oils, for a more specific result or for specific problems.

Instructions for use: Instructions for use: Pour a few drops on palm, apply to face, body, hair or nails, and massage gently until absorbed.

Caution: If it solidifies, just place the bottle in a water bath, over a radiator, or under hot water for a few minutes.
