Shea butter is extracted from a small nut, the fruit of the shea tree that grows spontaneously in Africa. Extracting shea butter from these nuts is mostly a manual job and entails a long process. The fruits are harvested, the pulp is removed to reach the nut, which is then dried or roasted.
